Just finished Pyrie, a new custom Barbie remake. Her name is a derivative of pyr, Greek root word for fire, and one of the Furies. She is a symbol of fire, passion, and harvest. Aesthetically, I combined Greek and Roman motif with Victorian Romanticism.
This Teresa mold Barbie doll has been completely repainted and rerooted with hand dyed merino wool hair. I made her outfit from scraps of cloth donated by Garment District boutiques. I also made Pyrie her own pyre stand with wreathed twigs.
